Dan Post, FCAS, MAAA
Chief Actuary
Dan joined MCA as Chief Actuary in October 2022 to expand our capabilities into the actuarial space. This includes rate reviews, reserve reviews, pricing and segmentation analyses, claims analytics, and strategic actuarial services. The actuarial rigor will complement our Product Management services and will allow MCA to provide an even more holistic offering to our clients.
Dan earned his Fellowship into the Casualty Actuarial Society in 2002. His background in various roles during his 18-year tenure at The Hartford and 23 years in the industry uniquely positions him to provide this wealth of support. As The Hartford’s Chief Reserving Actuary, Dan was responsible for all reserving decisions for a $22B book of gross liabilities across personal and commercial lines. As their Personal Lines Chief Actuary Dan led pricing, reserving, and planning functions for a $4B personal auto and home book. Dan’s 5 years leading a State Product Management team within Personal Auto and Home during a new product launch gives him the perspective to provide an important link between Product Management and Actuarial.
When he’s not diving into a variety of business solutions at MCA, Dan enjoys spending time outside with his wife, four teenage kids, and two dogs. He loves planning vacations and organizing elaborate games or tournaments for family and friends. Dan trains for obstacle course races and is always looking for a new physical or intellectual challenge.
